Sona student team Go-Agro has secured first Prize at National Level Hackathon 2020

Smart India Hackathon 2020 Winners

Smart India Hackathon 2020 is a nationwide initiative to provide students a platform to solve some of the pressing problems we face in our daily lives, and thus inculcate a culture of product innovation and a mindset of problem solving. Smart India Hackathon 2020 was organized by MHRD in association with AICTE under hardware and software editions. Over 344 problem statements were released under software edition. In that, 243 problem statement solutions were selected for the finals at 40 Nodal centers across the Country. Our Team GO-AGRO participated under the organization “Ministry of Agricultural Co-operation and farmer welfare” under the Nodal Centre Techno India University, West Bengal. The Students team of GO-AGRO consists of C.Manimoliselvan, B.Dinesh Kumar, S.Manikandan and S.Lokeshwar from Civil Engineering, S.A.Kungumaswetha from Computer Science and S.Suvetha from Electronics and Communication Engineering mentored by Dr.R.Malathy, Head of the Department, Civil Engineering and Mr.N.Karruppaswamy, Research scholar.

Problem Statement:
Requirements for developing IT solutions for precision-based irrigation,
fertilization, crop growth maturity of the major commodity in Agriculture.
Our Solution:
Enhancing Crop yield using Magnet in available water with help of IoT without the use of any type of fertilizers and pesticides

In the Nodal Centre, 5 problem statements were registered by 25 teams.  The Problem Statement was IT Solutions for precision based irrigation, fertigation, crop growth, crop maturity in Horticulture (SB109) and the Solution given by our team is – Enhancing Crop yield using Magnet in available water with help of IoT without the use of any type of fertilizers and pesticides. The grand finale was started on 1st August which was Virtual Inauguration by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Sri.Narendra Modi Ji.

In the finals, our team GO-AGRO has bagged First Prize with cash amount of Rs.1Lakh for the problem statement and overall Third place under the Nodal center. Our Chairman Sri.C.Valliappa, have announced cash prize of Rs.5000 for each student and mentor.
