PROFILE:
The Department of Physical Education, established in 1997, provides exceptional infrastructure and thorough training in a broad spectrum of sports and games. This commitment and drive have resulted in outstanding student achievements in competitions such as Anna University Zone, Inter-Zone, South West Inter-University, and at the District, State, and National levels. The department also plays a crucial role in fostering the holistic development of the students.

VISION:
Our vision is to bring out the best in every athlete, helping them become the best version of themselves. We aim to create an atmosphere that instils sportsmanship, camaraderie, and perseverance, ultimately contributing healthy and positive individuals to society through sports.

MISSION:
Our mission is to raise youth awareness of the importance of games and sports in their overall development. We aim to teach them how to make informed decisions and execute those decisions effectively, while fostering dedication, discipline, and sacrifice in their pursuit of goals.

ROLES & OBJECTIVES:

  • Recognize students for their academic, co-curricular, and extracurricular achievements through ceremonies, programs, and activities, while also ensuring quality healthcare and physical education.
  • Scholarships are offered to athletes competing at International, National, State, and Anna University Inter-Zone and Zone levels in team sports.
  • Players are awarded credit points during the recruitment process.
  • Students are provided opportunities to participate in various competitions at the International, National, and State levels.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among the management, principal, staff, and student community.
  • Specialized coaches train students in sports such as badminton, basketball, cricket, volleyball, hockey, kho-kho, kabaddi, handball, football, tennis, table tennis, chess, fencing, boxing, weightlifting, powerlifting, and track and field athletics.
  • The sports complex is equipped with a wide range of facilities for indoor basketball, football, hockey, volleyball, ball badminton, kabaddi, and handball.
  • Offer students avenues to take part in engaging activities, programs, and events.
  • Students are permitted to participate in competitions to test their skills.
