The NSS unit of the institution consists of 100 socially sensitive students with deep sense of service participating in the activities of club with verve. With the unswerving support of the Management, the club further enhances the social spirit through seminars on Personality Development, donation of eye and other organs, Videography and Photography.

Anna University awards Sona College and students for exceptional NSS activities
The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Sona College of Technology has received three awards of the Anna University this year (2020-21) for the academic year 2019-20.
Anna University, Chennai, recognizes affiliate colleges for the various social, community welfare activities carried through their NSS units. Awards are given to the outstanding volunteers and the programme officers who plan the activities and guide the volunteers. Sona College of Technology has been a consistent performer and has received awards over the years.
In acknowledgment of the exceptional services performed by student volunteers under the NSS Programme officers of Sona College of Technology, Dr.P.Iyyanar, Mr.R.Anand, Mr.R.Vaidhyanathan, the college has been awarded the Best NSS Unit Award for the year 2019-2020.
Student volunteers Ms.S.Vinodhini Final Year ECE 2017 - 2021 and R.Babu Final Year ECE 2017 - 2021 have been recognized with the Best NSS Volunteer Award for the year 2019 – 2020 in appreciation of their exceptional NSS services.
“This recognition is yet another example of the commitment and support of our Sona Management. We express our gratitude to Dr. R.Ramesh, Anna University’s NSS Coordinator, Dr.Yuvaraj, NSS Coordinator, Coimbatore Region and Dr. Sam Chellaiya, Regional NSS Coordinator for the chance given to us to serve society,” said the Sona College NSS Programme Officers.
