SCT and IBM partner to bridge IBM Cloud skills gap in Salem

Salem, Nov 12, 2014:  Sona College of Technology (SCT), Salem, has partnered with IBM (NYSE: IBM) to train and educate students and faculty on industry oriented IBM Cloud capabilities. This collaboration aims to improve the quality of technical education in Salem. IBM will also provide resources, professional training, certification and skills in open standards. 

IBM Academic Initiative is a global program that facilitates collaboration between IBM and educators to teach students and faculty on information technology skills. This partnership is aimed to develop capabilities which will help them build competitive advantage and keep pace with changes in the workplace.

Commenting on the collaboration, Sri. C. Valliappa Chairman, Sona College of Technology said, "We believe in educating students to be industry ready. This association with IBM is a step towards that direction. Bluemix platform has given opportunities for the young minds of Sona to transform their innovative ideas into products and become successful entrepreneurs. With an exposure to IBM Bluemix, students will be equipped to develop many innovative apps for the society. We wish them success to be winners in the current year of IBM TGMC (The Great Mind Challenge Contest)".
