The Sona Fashion Technology, Sona College of Technology, in association with Institution of Engineers of India (IEI), Kolkata – Textile Engineering Division Board (TXDB), is organizing a #National #Conference on “Emerging Trends in Sustainable and Smart Technologies: Fibres, Fabrics and Garments” on 20th February 2026 at 09:30 AM in the PG Auditorium.
The conference aims to create a strong #industry–academia platform to deliberate on #sustainable materials, #smarttextiles, #wearable systems, and #advanced #apparel #manufacturing #technologies aligned with #Industry 4.0 and #circular #economy principles.
The event is organized under the leadership of Sri. C. Valliappa, Chairman, Sona Institutions; Mr. Chocko Valliappa, Vice-Chairman; and Mr. Thyagu Valliappa, Vice-Chairman. Dr Senthilkumar S R R, Principal, Sona College of Technology, serves as the Convenor. The Conference Chair is Er. S. Loganathan, FIE, Chairman, IEI Salem Local Centre & Council Member, IEI. The conference is coordinated by Dr.D.Raja., PhD., Professor & Head, Department of Fashion Technology, and Dr. Priyalatha S, Associate Professor & Deputy Head, Department of Fashion Technology.
We are privileged to host Mr. Sandeep Jhunjhunwala, Director, Techno Sportswear Private Limited, Tiruppur, as the Chief Guest, and Mr. Ranjith Sekar, Senior Product Developer and Researcher, Techno Sportswear Private Limited, Tiruppur, as the Guest of Honour.
The technical sessions will feature eminent speakers including Mr. Shyam Natarajan, Asmara Group, Chennai on behavioural and creative dimensions in fashion; Mr. Sudarsan Rajagopalan, Splendour Medicare Technologies, Coimbatore on smart textile sensors for healthcare monitoring; Dr.Renjini G, National Institute of Fashion Technology, Bengaluru on smart technology in apparel manufacturing; and Mr.Arunkumar V, Aditya Birla Lifestyle Brands Ltd., Bengaluru on sustainability in apparel manufacturing.
The conference will also include parallel paper presentation sessions, enabling researchers and students to showcase innovative work in textile engineering and garment technology.
