The Guest lecture was conducted for Second Year IT & ADS students on the topic “Modern C++ and its Applications” through online mode on 23.11.2024 from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm.

 

The resource person provided a detailed and insightful session on Modern C++ and its Applications, covering the following topics:
1. Introduction to Modern C++:
a. Key features introduced in recent standards (C++11, C++14, C++17, C++20).
b. Improvements in performance, readability, and maintainability with Modern C++.
2. Core Concepts and Features:
a. Use of smart pointers and memory management techniques.
b. The Standard Template Library (STL) ‘s significance and enhancements.
c. Lambda expressions and their practical applications.
d. Concepts and Constraints introduced in C++20.
3. Applications of Modern C++ in the Industry:
a. Applications in high-performance systems like gaming engines and financial analytics.
b. C++ in real-time systems and embedded systems.
c. The role of C++ in machine learning frameworks and data analysis tools.
4. Best Practices in Modern C++:
a. Writing clean and efficient code using Modern C++ features.
b. Debugging and testing practices for C++ projects.
Students gained valuable insights into the latest trends, best practices, and the challenges associated with Modern C++ in organizations. Finally, feedback on the session was collected from the students via Microsoft Forms.
