Smart India Hackathon is one of the biggest innovation challenge conducted nationwide since 2017. The Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell and All India Council of Technical Education identify nodal centres to host the competition and the selected team of participants along with their mentors, industry representatives and evaluators travel across the country to their assigned centres. It is being conducted every year in terms of Software Edition and Hardware Edition for Engineering Students. This year Sona College of Technology was chosen to be one of the Nodal Centre to host the Grand Finale of SIH 2022 Software Edition. Around 25 teams involving 150 participants gathered at the campus to solve 8 problem statements identified by UGC that render solutions to the pressing societal problems.
The event started on 25th August 2022 at 8 am with an inaugural ceremony at the campus. The participants showcased determination in achieving their goal by their enthusiastic participation for 36 hours. A crew of students from Sona Medical College of Naturopathy and Yoga relished the participants with relaxation techniques and Yoga to sustain them. Out of the 25 teams the panel of evaluators declared 7 teams as winners at the valedictory function at 8:30 pm on 26th August 2022.
