The NSS units of Sona College of Technology organized a Blood Group Identification Camp at Vattamuthampatty Village and MGR Nagar, Salem Block, on the third day of the NSS Special Camp (04.01.2026) in association with Maruthi Blood Bank and Research Foundation, Salem.
The camp aimed to create awareness about the importance of knowing one’s blood group and to promote voluntary blood donation among rural residents. Medical professionals from Maruthi Blood Bank, with support from NSS volunteers, conducted the identification process efficiently. Villagers of all age groups participated actively and were educated on blood group types, compatibility, and the importance of donor records.
NSS volunteers assisted in registration, crowd management, and awareness activities. Over 200 individuals identified their blood groups. The camp successfully enhanced community health awareness and reflected the NSS motto, “Not Me, But You.”
