The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (Sona ECE), Sona College of Technology, successfully organized an Industrial Training Program on “Vision AI Systems Design for Edge Devices” on 23rd and 24th of January 2026. The program aimed to provide students with practical exposure to designing and deploying computer vision models on resource-constrained edge platforms.

The training sessions focused on the fundamentals of Vision AI, including image processing, object detection, model optimization, and real-time inference. Participants gained insights into deploying deep learning models on edge devices such as embedded GPUs and microcontroller-based systems, emphasizing low power consumption, latency reduction, and efficient resource utilization. Real-world applications in smart surveillance, healthcare monitoring, industrial automation, and IoT-based systems were discussed to highlight industry relevance. Students actively engaged in hands-on sessions. The program effectively bridged academic concepts with industrial practices, enhancing students’ technical proficiency and readiness for emerging opportunities in Edge AI and intelligent embedded systems.
