Sona College of Technology has welcomed around 1000 fresh minds to its Engineering degree programmes!
At the recent Freshers Day programme, students had the privilege of hearing from some inspiring speakers.
• Dr. Kaliyamurthy, ex-Superintendent of Police and noted speaker stressed importance of time management prioritising education over mobile phone abuse.
• Chairman, Sri C. Valliappa, invited students to explore Sona’s Punniya Bhoomi (Blessed Land) campus with state-of-the-art facilities and 36 Advanced Research Centers.
• Vice Chairman, Mr. Chocko Valliappa, emphasised on 5C approach, helping students harness their potential and unleash creativity.
• Vice Chairman, Mr.Thyagu Valliappa, motivated students to create groundbreaking solutions in areas like Artificial Intelligence with a strong industry emphasis.
• Dr.S.R.R Senthil Kumar, Principal, praised the college’s legacy of 100 years in industry and 66 years in higher education and urged students to make use of Sona’s scholarships.
• The Freshers Day began with a Welcome Address by Dr.B.Sathiyabhama, Dean, Admissions and HoD/CSE. Dr.J.Akilandeswari, Dean, Academics and HoD/IT proposed the Vote of Thanks.
We can’t wait to see what these talented individuals will accomplish during their time at Sona!
