Grand Sports Meet 2026 – A Triumph of Talent and Teamwork at Sona Institutions!
On March 2, 2026, our college sports ground came alive as students from Thiagarajar Polytechnic College, Sona College of Technology, and Sona College of Arts and Science united for an unforgettable celebration of sporting excellence.
Presided by Chairman, Sri. C. Valliappa and Vice-Chairman, Mr.Thyagu Valliappa, the event featured the Annual Sports Report by our Directors of Physical Education, showcasing stellar achievements during 2025–2026.
We were honored by Chief Guest, Mr. R. Sai Kishore—Indian cricketer, IPL & TNPL star, India A representative, Asian Games Gold Medalist, Gujarat Titans lead spinner, and Tamil Nadu Ranji Captain. His inspiring address stressed hard work, discipline, fitness (including his yoga routine), avoiding negativity, and pursuing passions wisely. Students’ Q&A session with him sparked real motivation!
Prizes went to standout athletes at Asian, International, National, and All India Inter-University levels, with rolling trophies for zonal/state excellence in badminton, basketball, chess, tennis, table tennis, football, volleyball, handball, hockey, fencing, best physique, weightlifting, and powerlifting awarded by our leaders and the Chief Guest.
