The National Service Scheme (NSS) units of Sona College of Technology organized a combined eye, ENT, and dental health camp at Vattamuthampatty Village and MGR Nagar, Salem Block, on 03.01.2026, the second day of the NSS Special Camp, in association with Dr Agarwal’s Eye Hospital, J.S. Hospital, and Dr Saravanan’s Dento Facial Dental Clinics, Salem.
The camp aimed to provide basic medical screening, early diagnosis, and health awareness for the rural population. Specialist doctors conducted eye, ENT, and dental check-ups, offering free consultations and essential medicines. Villagers were also educated on personal hygiene, eye care, oral health, and preventive healthcare practices.
Around 300 villagers, including children, adults, and elderly residents, benefited from the camp. NSS volunteers actively supported the programme through registration, crowd management, patient assistance, and awareness activities. The camp was successfully conducted, strengthening community health awareness and institutional–community relations, and reflecting the NSS motto “Not Me, But You.”
