The National Service Scheme (NSS) units of Sona College of Technology organized a General Health Check-up Camp at Vattamuthampatty Village and MGR Nagar, Salem Block, on the third day of the NSS Special Camp (04.01.2026), in association with Salem Gopi Hospitals.
The camp aimed to provide essential medical check-ups, promote preventive healthcare, and support early detection of common health issues among the rural population, with special focus on children, women, senior citizens, and economically weaker sections. Medical professionals conducted general health examinations, including blood pressure and blood sugar checks, BMI assessments, and basic physical evaluations.
Villagers were also educated on personal hygiene, healthy dietary habits, sanitation, and prevention of lifestyle-related diseases. Around 300 villagers benefited from the camp. NSS volunteers actively assisted in registration, crowd management, patient guidance, and health awareness activities.
The camp was conducted smoothly and received a positive response from the community, strengthening institution–community relations and reflecting the NSS motto “Not Me, But You.”
