THAL SAINIK CAMP SELECTION

On March 24th, 2023, four cadets representing Sona College NCC participated in the Thal Sainik Camp (TSC) Selection at Government Arts College (GAC), Salem. The selection process was organized and conducted by 12 (TN) BN NCC, aimed at identifying cadets with the necessary skills and aptitude for participation in the Thal Sainik Camp.

The selection process comprised various tests designed to assess the cadets’ abilities and readiness for the camp. These tests included assessments in areas such as Map Reading, Field Craft, Battle Craft, Health and Hygiene, among others. Each cadet underwent rigorous evaluations under the supervision of the commanding officer of 12 (TN) BN NCC, Colonel Rakesh Mishra.

Following the initial tests, cadets were further challenged with obstacle courses, such as zig-zag running, to evaluate their agility, endurance, and physical fitness levels. Additionally, a firing test was conducted to assess their marksmanship and proficiency in handling firearms.

The TSC selection provided cadets with an opportunity to showcase their skills, determination, and potential to excel in challenging environments. It served as a platform for them to demonstrate their readiness to undertake the responsibilities and tasks associated with the Thal Sainik Camp.

Overall, the selection process was a rigorous yet rewarding experience for the cadets, offering them a chance to prove themselves and pave the way for potential participation in the esteemed Thal Sainik Camp.
