The Engineers Day was celebrated at Sona College of Technology on 22nd September 2023 in association with Tamil Nadu Center of Excellence for Advanced Manufacturing (TANCAM). The conclave on “Engineering Excellence – Building a Sustainable Future” was conducted at Sri Valliappa Auditorium. The programme started with Tamil Thai Vazhthu followed by lighting of Kuthuvilakku. Dr. S.R.R. Senthil Kumar, Principal / SCT delivered the Welcome Address. The Chief Guest of the Conclave Mr. Ramesh Kumar, Head/ HR – Ashok Leyland, delivered the Special Address on the title “Exploring Cutting-edge Opportunities in Advanced Manufacturing”. Further, Mr. P. Sreenivasa Roa from Dassault Systems explained the salient features of Dassault Systems to empower advanced manufacturing applications. Mr. Thyagu Valliappa, Vice Chairman of Sona Institutions, delivered the Keynote Address and highlighted the importance of using digital manufacturing techniques with special focus on Industry 4.0. Also, he explained the need for skill enhancement in design engineering modules. Mr. Vijayadeepan, COO – TANCAM, enumerated the salient features of 3DX experience platform and its applicability for solving multi-disciplinary engineering problems. Dr. D. Senthil Kumar, Head – Mechanical Engineering, proposed the Vote of Thanks.
