The National Service Scheme (NSS) of Sona College of Technology, in collaboration with Blood & Beyond Hospital, Salem – 7, organized an Awareness Seminar on the Importance of Blood Donation on 23rd July 2025 (Wednesday) from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at APJ Hall.
The seminar was inaugurated with a welcome address by Dr. P. Iyyanar, NSS Programme Officer. The chief guest, Dr. V. Karthika, MD, DNB, DM—Consultant Hematologist/Hemato-Oncologist and BMT Physician—delivered an informative session highlighting the need for voluntary blood donation, eligibility criteria, and safety protocols. She also addressed and dispelled common myths surrounding blood donation.
A total of 125 NSS volunteers from various departments actively participated. The session inspired many students to become regular blood donors and ambassadors for the cause.
The event concluded with gratitude extended to the principal, the guest speaker, the NSS organizing team, and all the student participants.
