ARMY ATTACHMENT CAMP:

The Army Attachment 2, conducted by the 12th Regiment of Madras Native Infantry, Pallavaram, proved to be a transformative experience for three of our cadets: LCPL Ramakrishnan R, LCPL Yogeshwaran T S, and CPL Shankar P. Spanning from February 21st, 2023, to March 4th, 2023, this attachment offered a comprehensive immersion into various military activities aimed at honing their knowledge and skills.

The attachment commenced on an auspicious note with document verification, room allotments, and a ceremonial Pooja on the first day, seeking divine blessings for the upcoming endeavors. The following day commenced with a rigorous PT parade, emphasizing the importance of physical fitness in military training.

Throughout the attachment, participants were engaged in a series of lectures and practical demonstrations focused on infantry weapon training, with a particular emphasis on the INSAS rifle and its handling techniques. They also received instruction on military ranks, survival tactics in jungle environments, and the formation of sections and platoons, essential for effective military operations.

In addition to theoretical sessions, the attachment included hands-on activities and recreational outings to enhance learning and foster camaraderie among participants. A visit to Vadalur Zoo provided an opportunity for the cadets to observe wildlife and appreciate the biodiversity of the region. Furthermore, jungle trekking expeditions allowed them to develop outdoor survival skills while immersing themselves in the natural environment.

One of the highlights of the attachment was the exploration of a model house representing the India-China border, providing invaluable insights into border security and the deployment of infantry weapons in challenging terrains.

Overall, the Army Attachment 2 was a holistic learning experience for our cadets, offering a blend of theoretical knowledge, practical training, and recreational activities. It not only enhanced their military proficiency but also instilled in them a deeper appreciation for teamwork, discipline, and outdoor adventure. Such attachments serve as crucial components of their NCC journey, shaping them into well-rounded individuals prepared for the challenges of military service and beyond.
