Centre for concrete innovation(COIN), a unique advanced research centre was created by Sona College of Technology, Salem to carry out research on utilization of industrial waste into wealth , by making concrete products( bricks, paver, tiles, etc.,) and technology based. The R&D centre has been set up keeping in view the growing significance of IOT technology in field of civil engineering, in recent times

Sona COIN was started in the year 2012 and the main focus of the research Centre is to innovate new types of concrete from industrial wastes.

• To contribute to the society through innovations in concrete through effective usage of industrial wastes.

Objectives

• To utilize the industrial waste materials for preparing the low cost building elements

• To identify the improvements / modifications desired in the existing conventional concrete construction practice

• To conduct seminars/ workshop/advanced courses to disseminate the latest knowledge in the field of innovative concrete technology.
