As envisioned in the National Iron Plus Initiative (NIPI) and Weekly Iron Folic Acid Supplementation (WIFS) programs, the Anaemia Mukt Bharat strategy has been implemented in all villages within district blocks through the current delivery platforms since 2018.
Tamil Nadu is implementing the Anaemia Mukt Bharat Scheme to lower the prevalence of anaemia by three percentage points annually.
The Sona NSS cell organized the iron pill distribution, which happened on our campus on August 5, 2023, between 2:30 and 4:00 p.m. The 5,000 iron pills were given out by our volunteers to every department head and faculty member within each department. Twenty NSS volunteers participated in the tablet distribution event.
