IGC FIRING SELECTION – 2022
The Inter Group Competition – Firing Camp was held at Kongu Engineering College, Perundurai, organized by 15 TN BN NCC. The NCC cadets of our college participated in the 10-day camp. During the camp, they gained valuable knowledge about handling rifles in various positions such as lying, sitting, kneeling, and standing.
Approximately 150 cadets from various units in the Coimbatore group and the PI staff from different units trained the cadets efficiently. They conducted classes covering rifle handling, communications, cover from view, cover from fire, and other relevant topics.
Cadets underwent physical training during the morning sessions. After breakfast, one group practiced firing on the firing range while another group had dry practice on the college ground. After several practice sessions, competitions were held in the three positions and lying position. In the evening sessions, they engaged in further physical training, and on some days, they had warm-up sessions for firing. Finally, an award function was organized to recognize the best performers in the firing range.
