The Women Empowerment Committee of Sona College of Technology organized a mega IDEATHON -“Empower HERathon” event for girl students of 1st,2nd,3rd and 4th year B.E programme with exciting cash prizes. The programme conducted on 10.04.2024 at 9.30am at Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam Hall. The girls students of different years from engineering participated in the event. Total of 20 teams participated and received exciting cash prizes. The girls student were made to design an idea solution for the different problems and they were asked to present on the day. The Best Innovative solutions will be supported to make it as a product.
Problem statements are:
1.Development of smart toilets for women in a sustainable way.
2.Reutilizing the napkin waste in as sustainable method.
3. To address online harassment and cyberbullying against women.
4. To address the cravings during menstrual cycle in healthy way.
5.To promote mental health awareness during menstrual cycle.
6.GreeGlam: Empowering women through sustainable solutions.
7.Safety wearables for women.
8. Creating assistive devices for women with disabilities.
9. Enhancing financial literacy for women.
10. Other innovations related to women.
The presentation ideas are evaluated by Dr.M.Dhanusu ,Executive Director of Sona Incubution center and Ms.R.Sowndharya AP/CSE/SCT. The event Chief Dr.M.Renuga HoD/H&L and the Coordinators are Ms.A.P.Jaya Krishna AP/ECE and Ms.K.S.Jayareka AP/CSE.
First prize won by Niranjanaa.M.S.L from B.Tech BME III year received cash prize of 3000 rupees. Second prize won by Kavya.S from B.E MCT II year and Prasidhika.J from B.E ECE II year received cash prize of 2000 rupees. Third prize won by Keerthana.G , Kannika parameshwari and Harini.M from B.Tech ADS II year received cash prize of 1000 rupees.
