A guest lecture was organized in Civil Department, under the guidance of Dr, R, Malathy, HOD/ Civil by Prof. S. Priscil Nidhu for the students of V & VII semester on the topic “Emerging Construction Technologies & Methodologies” by Er. Ajit Sabnis, Managing Director, InCiCon-AG, Bangalore on 26.09.2017. Almost 30 students attended the lecture and were enriched with the recent techniques adopted in construction. He briefed about auto level plastering machine, formwork techniques, scaffolding, tilt up construction technology, slipform techniques by showing them videos. He also explained the different phases of project management in construction and discussed about the emerging buildings which are made smart, intelligent, energy efficient, electrochromatic, biomimicry and earthquake resistant using advanced techniques. The session was interactive and interesting by students asking various questions related to the subject. The opportunities and advancements in construction field were discussed. H concluded by saying that we as civil engineers are responsible for what we construct and play a vital role in the development of Nation’s growth.
