It is needless to explain “Olympics”, such an important event to players and existing for many years. In the similar lines, our beloved management thought of conducting an event to young students rather engineers to bring out their talents in the year 2017 and named it as “Motor Olympics”. It is mainly to assess their engineering skills with available materials. It is obvious that the talents differ from person to person.
Here the students are given with a small magnet and a piece of bare copper wire. The students should use these materials and make a motor such that it rotates. They will also be given with a time limit.
The students have to recall the working principle of a motor and make a model with the given materials. It will be judged by a panel of professors and ranked depending upon their performance. Finally three prizes will be given. This year, it was conducted on 19.03.2018 (Monday) at power electronics lab and our beloved vice chairman gave away the prizes to the winners.
