Anna University, Chennai appreciates all the affiliated engineering colleges in Tamilnadu for the NSS activities and gives award every year. The award function for this year was conducted on 14.10.2015 which was presided over by Dr.M.Rajaram, Vice Chancellor, Anna University. Sona College of Technology is selected for the best NSS Unit award for this year. The award was given by Anna University Vice Chancellor, and was received by Principal Dr. V. Jayaprakash, NSS coordinators Mr. P. Iyyanar, Mr. P. Jayaprakash and Mr. R. Baskaran.
Further, the best NSS programme officer award was received by Mr. P. Iyyanar, the best male NSS volunteer award was received by Mr. N. Manikandan, and the best female NSS volunteer award was received by Ms. S. Rathisri.
Our NSS wing has bagged “The Best NSS unit” award for the year 2013 – 2014 under University level.
“Best programme officer” award has been given to Mr.P.Iyyanar of our NSS unit for 2013 – 2014.
“Best Male Student Volunteer” award has been bagged by N.Manikandan, final year Mechanical department (2014 – 15).
“Best Female Student Volunteer” award has been awarded to S.Rathishri, final year CSE department (2013 – 14).
