Sona Alumni Association (SAA) conducted Alumni Meet for the year 2019 (RETROSPECT ‘19) on 10.08.2019 at 10 A.M. We celebrated it in a grand manner at Sri Valliappa Auditorium. The programme started with ‘Tamizthai valthu’ and followed by the welcome address of our beloved principal. Our alumni Ms.D.Dharmalasri, IAS Officer; Mr.R.Karthikeyan, Managing Director, Akshaya Group of Hotels, Dharmapuri; Mr.N.Muthiah, Divisional Manager, Ashok Leyland; Ms.M.Preethi, Senior Associate, Price Waterhouse Coopers Pvt. Ltd., Bengaluru addressed the gathering with their motivating speech for the students. Our beloved Vice-Chairmen Sri.Chocko Valliappa and Sri.Thiagu Valliappa delivered the Felicitation address. There was a small interaction between the alumni of various years of passed out. There were nearly 500 alumni gathered and refreshed their old memories. There were surprising AVs prepared by present Sonarians for alumni in order to cherish back their college days. There were lot of fun events with special prizes arranged for alumni and for their kids. The alumni were excited to bring back their golden days of their collegehood.
The alumni were really pleased to receive these awards from our special juries. Lucky draw event was conducted by our beloved principal for each department. Out of which, the lucky winners were selected by the hands of our principal. There were exciting prizes such as Bluetooth Speakers, Wireless mouses, 16GB Sandisk pen drives and Headphones.
There were special cultural events conducted by our present Sonarians and Sonata club for the past Sonarians. Alumni also participated in cultural and performed dance movements with present sonarians.
Refreshments and lunch were provided for the entire gathering with Buffet through our management of Sona College of Technology.
The entire programme concluded with our national anthem at 2 P.M.
