National Science Day is celebrated in order to commemorate the invention of the Raman Effect in India by the Indian physicist, Sir CV Raman on Feb 28 & March 01 in Sona College of Technology.
Many events including quiz, paper presentation, painting, posters, were conducted based on scientific themes. Lectures including the contributions of Indian scientists, ISRO activities, importance of innovation for better living and nature protection were arranged.
Science Day address was delivered by Distinguished Scientist & the Director of ISRO Satellite centre, Bangalore – Padma Shri Dr SK Shivakumar.
On account of the celebrations an award was presented to the Salem based environmentalist Mr Piyush Manush.
