
NASSCOM (National Association of Software and Service Companies) is governed by the central government serves as the central body and core of IT software and services in India. Their main aim is to facilitate business and research in software technology.It’s visions is to establish India as the 21st century software powerhouse and position the country as the global sourcing hub for software and services.
NASSCOM welcomes companies as members that are established and registered in India and motivate them to make positive contributions to the IT software industry in India and globally.
Based on the needs of the Indian IT sector, NASSCOM has signed an important agreement with the University Grants Commission (UGC), to develop relevant and industry-oriented manpower resources. This collaboration will provide a gradual growth in IT environment and make India a serving hub in global markets. As part of the agreement, NASSCOM and the UGC will be looking at strengthening professional education through curricula, faculty and infrastructure. The main objective of this collaboration is to have a NASSCOM-UGC tie-up that would bridge the difference between industry expectation and IT manpower availability.
Appearing for the NAC Tech (Engineering stream) or NAC Test (Non-Engineering stream) candidates get placed in member companies of NASSCOM either in the Core, ITES / BPO sectors. The test conducted by NAC will serve as a valid written test for jobs in these companies.
The above mentioned list goes on and is a great oppurtunity for students in getting placed in these companies by attending the NAC exams and their interviews.
NAC Tech defines a generic Engineering industry standard for hiring at the entry level that will help in assessing the training needs, enhance employability and provide greater correlation between education to employment. The candidates are expected to possess the basic abilities along with technical skills.
