The International Conference on Innovation practices in Mechanical, Mechatronics & Management Studies is organised with the objective of bringing together researchers, academicians, developers, and practitioners working in these domains. The conference consists of plenary talks and paper presentations in the emerging areas of Mechanical, Mechatronics and Management Studies.
ICIP3M ’26 is an appropriate platform to present the deliberations on technical, social and psychological aspects in the thrust areas of the conference for the betterment of the society. The conference, which aims at promoting the academia and make it relevant to the 21st century, will create a perfect ambience for people to share their views and experiences in Innovative Research Techniques in the contemporary areas of multidisciplinary research.
English is the official language of the conference. We welcome paper submissions in the thrust areas of ICIP3M ’26. Authors are invited to submit the full paper (which is NOT submitted / published / under consideration anywhere in other conferences / journal) in electronic (word only) format through the submission system. Sona College of Technology (SCT) traces its roots to Sri Karumuthu Thiagarajan Chettiar, a renowned industrialist, freedom fighter, and educationist who established Thiagarajar Polytechnic College in 1958. Established in 1997 by its Founder Chairman, Sri. M.S. Chockalingam, a distinguished textile industrialist and educationist, Sona College of Technology continues to build on this strong legacy under our current Chairman, Sri. C.Valliappa, Vice Chairmen, Mr. Chocko Valliappa and Mr. Thyagu Valliappa.
The college enjoys autonomous status under the Anna University and holds a NAAC A++ accreditation with a CGPA of 3.65. It has a high NIRF Ranking falling within the 11–50 band under the innovation category and 151–200 band under Engineering Category. As a research and innovation-focused institution, the college prides in its 36 Advanced Research Centres which undertake cutting-edge research across disciplines and have developed advanced systems for high-profile national projects like Chandrayaan-3 and the Gaganyaan mission.
Sona's global perspective has resulted in academic and research collaborations with national institutions like IIT (M) and international universities like Purdue University, Strathclyde University, University of Burgundy, Universita Politecnica Delle Marche, Italy, Universiti Sains Islam, Malaysia, Seclon University of Technology, Poland, Complutense University of Madrid, Spain, to name a few. The Department of Mechanical Engineering is equipped with the best resources to enrich the professional and academic competencies of the students. The mission of the department is to strengthen their learning to meet the global expectations of the industry through high-calibre education, applied research, and practice-based learning.
The department offers a well-balanced curriculum that ensures the holistic development of students, preparing them to become engineering professionals with the knowledge, expertise, and confidence to progress in all spheres of Mechanical Engineering.
SOMALabs leverages the 3DExperience platform to enhance product design, simulation, and collaborative engineering processes. The department provides practical exposure in modern manufacturing processes, CNC, robotics, fluid mechanics, thermal engineering, and advanced computational analysis.
The department also promotes national and international competitions like SAE events, Go-kart, Baja, Efficycle, Drone events, industrial certifications (NPTEL, Autodesk, Dassault Systèmes), research publications, consultancy projects, internships, industrial visits, major/minor projects, and placement drives. Students are trained to achieve career readiness and enhance product quality from industries like manufacturing and aerospace.
The Department of Mechatronics Engineering at Sona College of Technology is dedicated to providing a multidisciplinary education that integrates mechanical, electrical, electronics, computer, and control engineering. The department offers a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) program in Mechatronics Engineering, designed to train students in modern mechatronics systems and automation solutions.
The department ensures well-equipped laboratories and experienced faculty, and a strong emphasis on research and industry collaboration. Students graduate with strong career readiness in industries such as robotics, automation manufacturing, and aerospace.
