The Sona College of Technology, a part of the Sona Group of Institutions, has added yet another feather to its cap!

Yes, the Director for Knowledge Transfer and Valourisation, Dr. ir. Nirmalesh Sampath Kumar, who is already a Marie S. Curie Fellow and an Erasmus Mundus Scholar, has been granted a Chevening Fellowship!

Better known as CRISP, which stands for the Chevening Research, Science, and Innovation Leadership Fellowship (CRISP), the ten-week programme is to be hosted at St Cross College, University of Oxford in the month of May this year.

What is significant about this development is that the Fellowship is granted to professionals with very high potential in the fields of Science, innovation and business.

The fact that Nirmalesh is a former student of Sona makes this achievement even more special to the Sona group of Institutions.

Funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office, the main academic strands of the ten-week CRISP Fellowship will include science, innovation, leadership and management, as well as wider issues including global challenges, politics, and international relations.

The modules will aim to help fellows develop an understanding of the UK science field and a range of innovation management processes. It will also help explore the interactions between research, innovation, and economic development among other things.

To have reached the interview stage from over 60,000 applicants globally is a great achievement and Sona whole-heartedly congratulates Nirmalesh for this effort and wishes him all the very best.
