WORLD WATER DAY 2019:
Every year, the NCC cadets of Sona College of Technology come together to celebrate ‘World Water Day’ with a deep sense of sincerity and commitment. Recognizing the critical importance of water as the most precious resource for survival, the cadets dedicated themselves to spreading awareness about water conservation and addressing the global water crisis.
This year, the theme chosen for the event was ‘Do not waste water’, reflecting the urgency of the situation and the need for collective action to conserve this vital resource. The aim of the program was to educate both students and cadets about the growing water scarcity worldwide and the importance of adopting sustainable water management practices.
The event kicked off with an insightful speech delivered by the cadets, highlighting the significance of water and providing practical tips on how to conserve it. They emphasized the alarming trend of water scarcity and urged everyone to take responsibility for preserving this precious resource for future generations.
During the speech, cadets drew attention to the rapid depletion of natural water sources, illustrating the stark contrast between previous generations’ access to abundant water in rivers and lakes and the current reality of reliance on bottled water. They posed a thought-provoking question: “What will happen if our children have to rely on water capsules for survival?”
Following the speech, a drawing event was organized on the themeof “Water Conservation”, with 43 enthusiastic cadets participating to showcase their artistic talents. Through their creative expressions, the cadets depicted various aspects of water conservation, including the importance of reducing water wastage, preserving natural water bodies, and adopting eco-friendly practices.
The event served as a platform for meaningful engagement and reflection, encouraging participants to think critically about their water usage habits and the broader implications of water scarcity. By raising awareness and inspiring action, the NCC cadets of Sona College of Technology demonstrated their unwavering commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable development. Through such initiatives, they strive to make a positive impact and contribute to building a more water-secure future for all.
