RULES:
Category 1: 6th Std to 9th Std
Category 2: 10th Std to 12th Std
INSTRUMENTAL FUSION
• 2 Min Stage Setting + 5 Min Performance.
• Maximum 5 Members.
• Participants must bring their own instruments.
• Judgement is based on the own composition, stage presence and overall impression.
SOLO SINGING
• Duration of performance: 3 Min.
• Performances must be in Indian Languages only.
• A backing track (Karaoke) will be allowed.
JAM
• In Just a Minute Talk each student will be given a on the spot by drawing lots.
• Students can take a minute for preparation and present their speech for the next one minute
DEBATE
• A team should have 3 participants.
• The topics will be given 30 Min before the debate.
• The students should maintain decorum in the language they use.
QUIZ
• Maximum 4 participants from a school.
• Three rounds General Round, Timing Round, and
Buzzer Round will be conducted.
• General Round: The maximum time will be 2 minutes and four teams of maximum points will pass over to the next round.
• Timing Round: The maximum time will be 1 minute and two teams of maximum points will pass over to the final round.
• The questions will be chosen by the contestant by drawing lots.
• A correct answer will fetch 5 points and for a wrong answer
in buzzer round the participant will get – 3 points.
Battle of Bands
• Duration of Performance: 10Min + 5 Min Stage Setting.
• No Pre – Recorded music allowed at any point.
• A standard drum kit only will be provided on stage.
• One member can play only for one band.
• Any violation of the rules in any way will lead to disqualification.
• Judgement is based on the stage presence, tempo, timing, strength of band, own composition, clarity.
• 8 members is allowed.
BRASS BAND GROUP
• Duration of performance is 7 min and a team can have
a minimum of 18 participants
• Participants must bring their own instruments.
• Judgement will be based on the dress code, equipment, marches, quick march, slow march, formation, presentation, and quality of tunes, time coverage & completion.
BHARATHANATIYAM GROUP
• Minimum 12 Members can participate in Bharathanatyam.
• This competition is for non – professionals and television artists.
• Recorded music is permitted.
• Participants will have to arrange their own CD / Pendrive for playing music.
• The audio quality of the music should be good and clear.
• Participants should appear for the competition in appropriate dress.
FOLK ARTS AND MUSIC
(Thappatam, Mayilattam, Parai, Bommalaattam, Poikkal Kudirai Aattam, Oyilaatam, Urumi, Bambai, Karagattam, Villupattu, Kummi)
• A team can have a minimum 12 Members can participate in folk arts and music.
• Participants should appear for the competition in appropriate folk art and music dress.
• Recorded music is not allowed for folk music.
CLASSICAL BHAJAN
• Everybody should be seated a few minutes prior to the start of the bhajan.
• Men should sit on one side of the prayer hall and women on the other.
• Bhajan leader and instrumentalists must be seated in the front few rows.
• Do not look around greeting one another, nor talk during the bhajan.
• Sing sweet, familiar and devotional bhajans in Tamil language which can be understood and sung by other devotees.
• Musical instruments used during bhajans should not drown the voices of the singers.
• Do not monopolise the time in bhajans by singing one bhajan for six or ten minutes repeating the same lines again and again.
• Bhajans should be sung in two speeds: slow and fast. In the slow speed, sing each line twice and, in the fast speed only once except the last line which should be sung twice to signal the conclusion of the bhajan.
• Recorded Music is not allowed for Classical Bhajan.
ROCK BAND
• Duration of the Performance: (10min + 5 min stage setting).
• No pre – recorded music allowed at any point.
• A standard Drum kit only will be provided on stage.
• One member can play only for one band.
• Any violation of the rules in any way will lead to disqualification.
• Judgment is based on the stage presence, tempo, timing, strength of band, own composition, clarity.
• A maximum of 8 and minimum of 3 members per team will be allowed.
GROUP DANCE
• Duration of Performance: 5 Min.
• A team must have a maximum of 10 and minimum of 6 members.
• Judgement will be based on choreography, rhythms, taal, synchronization, costume and overall presentation.
• The participant must maintain dancing etiquette.
