The Sona Group of Institutions’ majestic Administrative Building and Library Block, two of the most imposing and impressive structures in the steel city of Salem, were inaugurated today with a pooja that was attended by a host of dignitaries and college staff.
The Gruhapravesham ceremony began early on the morning of February 3, 2021, with a Gomatha pooja. It was followed by a series of holy rituals including one in which both the Group’s Vice chairmen Chocko Valliappa and Thyagu Valliappa took the blessings of their mother.
Women members from the Chairman’s family and the group then lighted the Kuthuvilakku (traditional lamp) after which, the traditional milk boiling ritual happened.

The family members of Sona Group of Institutions Chairman C Valliappa and senior staff members from the college garlanded a statue of Founder-Chairman Shri. M. S. Chockalingam on the occasion.
The moment was made memorable for the teachers and the staff as they chose to have pictures clicked with the Chairman and his family members on the occasion.
