The Women Empowerment Committee of Sona College of Technology in coordination with Women in Development Committee of Thiyagarajar Polytechnic College celebrated “International Women’s day 2017” in a grand manner on 8th March at the Special Auditorium.
The programme commenced with the prayer song by the Sona choir. The Welcome Address was given by R. Priyadharshini, II year CSE. The Annual Report was read by S.R.Raghavi, Student Chairperson, Sona College and S.Alice Bala Rosemary, Student Chairperson, TPT.
The guests were honoured by our Madam Chairman Smt. Seetha Valliappa. Women’s Achievements were glorified and commemorated by our Chief Guest Dr. M. Savitharani, Head, Training & Placement Dept., MSRIT, Bangalore. Our Guest of Honour, Ms. G. Rajalakshmi, COO & Director, Cenza Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Chennai talked about the triumph of women and their need to develop in every area.
Dr.V.Karthikeyan, Principal TPT felicitated the gathering. Our Alumni students were honoured. Mr.C.Valliappa, our Chairman gave the presidential address. An interactive session with the dignitaries and audience was very nice. Prizes were distributed to the deserving girl students to motivate and revere their achievements.
The vote of thanks was rendered by S. Pooja Vidhya Sri, Student Representative-TPT. The programme came to an end by 1.20 pm.
