Guest Lecture on “Placement Opportunities in VLSI Design and Verification”

The Department of ECE organized a Guest lecture on the topic of “Placement opportunities in VLSI Design and Verification” for its students of batch 2022-26. It was held on 12.12.24 in Dr.A.P.J Abdul Kalam hall of ECE department. The session was handled by Mr.Mukesh Vaidyanathan, Chief Strategy Officer & Mr.Vinod Kumar Gopinath, Chief Technology Officer from Edveon Technologies, Chennai. They spoke on various career opportunities in VLSI, starting with their role as a company in the industry, along with some of the basics of Chip designing and verification. Some points on current trends in the VLSI industry were also delivered. They shared information about various ways of developing skills in various VLSI sub-domains like programming languages(Verilog HDL and System Verilog), circuit understanding, and how these skills developed by the students will be useful to the students in real life industry aspects. They also assessed the students knowledge about current industry trends, and how they can enhance the same by means of constant practice.
