To commemorate the contributions of Thiru M.S. Chockalingam the Founder Chairman of Sona Group of Institutions to the society, the Founder’s Day was celebrated on 24.2.2017 in the special auditorium. The Founder Chairman, the great textile wizard whose desire to give back to the society and nurture the next generation bore fruit in the form of the reputed Sona College of Technology, a top ranking institute in the country. The day began with the prayer song by Sona Choir. The Principal Dr. M. Usha welcomed the august gathering. Mr. Maheswar Peri and Mr. T. Chidambaram Chettiar were the guests of honour. Reminiscences of the experiences with the Founder Chairman were shared by the Mr. C. Valliappa, Chairman, Mr. Chocko Valliappa and Mr. Thyagu Valliappa, Sona Groups of Institutions and the dignitaries present. The principles laid by the Founder Chairman are greatly followed by the Chairman and his two illustrious sons. The dedication and devotion of the Management towards rendering quality education were appreciated by the guests of honour. Dr. S. Padma, HOD, EEE gave the vote of thanks.
