Er. M. Mathiyalagan B.E, MBA, MIE, Superintending Engineer, TWAD Board, Salem-Namakkal Circle, Salem delivered a lecture on the implementation of water supply schemes by TWAD Board, on 09.02.2017 – 11 am to 01 pm,  in Sir C. V. Raman Hall. Third Year B.E. Civil Engineering students attended the lecture. Er. Mathiyalagan described the process of formulating a water supply scheme and how it is implemented. He narrated the details of Namakkal Municipal Added Areas Water Supply Scheme as a case study. Water becoming a scarce resource, he urged the students to create awareness among the public to conserve water resources and to avoid wasting water and requested the students to practice water conservation and protection measures. He touched upon sewerage schemes and the benefit of using treated wastewater for purposes other than drinking. He also invited the students to visit Mettur to see ongoing implementation of water supply scheme components. The Students received the teachings with keen interest and enthusiasm. Assistant Professors C. Ganapathy, U. Indira Priya Dharshini, G. Aruna, Thulasi Raman, and Soundararajan looked after the arrangements. Dr. S. Suresh, Professor, thanked Er.
