Awareness on LMCTS mobile app
An awareness session was organized for students of civil department, under the guidance of Dr, R, Malathy, HOD/ Civil on the usage of TN – LMCTS mobile app which is Legal Metrology Complaint Tracking System. Mr. Arul, Assistant Labour Inspector, Salem explained the importance of this app. He said it was developed for android phones which help consumers to file complaints against errant traders on overcharging, expiry date of goods, misbehavior, etc., It enables the Labour Department of TamilNadu to enforce Legal Metrology Act 2009 within 24 hours of filing complaint. The complaint can be uploaded as an image or video or conversation, etc., in which the details of the consumer will be confidential. He also encouraged the students to download it and share this awareness with society. He clarified the doubts raised by the students and it was an interactive session.
