Sona College of Technology celebrated the 69th Independence Day of our nation on 15th August 2015 in a colourful and grand manner. Principal, Dr. V. Jayaprakash, hoisted the National Flag and accepted the salute and guard of honour.
The Principal, in his Independence Day speech, said that the students had a great responsibility to serve the nation and the fellow men. As our former President Dr. Abdul Kalam said, students are the pillars of our nation and that they must work hard and take our nation to a greater height by helping our country to become a super power in 2020.
Furthermore, the Principal insisted that students should not be slaves to their own senses. They should have power in mind and work hard to get peace and prosperity in their lives. The Principal, Dean, Head of departments, teaching and non-teaching staff members and students participated in the celebrations. The function ended with the National Anthem.
