A new “Centre for E-Learning and Internet Research” has been established, with the following Objectives, headed by
“Prof. B. Saravanan”, Head- Systems, Research & Industry Training.
Objectives
1. Execution of INDO-US EDUSAT, Anna Univ-EDUSAT and Amrita A-VIEW E-Learning Programs.
2. Research & Development of Free Open Source Software
- Migrating the Proprietary Control Software used in the Process Industries to the open source platform.
- Development of VIRTUAL LAB using open source software for control system applications.
3. Cisco Networking Local Academy
- Research & Experimentation of Innovative Ideas for New Networking and Service Paradigms
- Training & Certification for CCNA and CCNP
- Consultancy for Design & Implementation of Computer Networks
4. IBM Centre of Excellence
- Training & Certification for IBM DB2 & RAD
5. Infosys-Campus Connect
- Training Program to align Engineering Student Competencies with Industry needs.
6. Google Student Ambassador Program
7. Web Administration
8. Purchase & Maintenance of IT Infrastructure (CMG)
- Computers, Printers, UPS & Other Accessories
- Campus Networking, Wi-Fi & Internet Connectivity.
