SONA SIPRO(SONA Signaland Image PROcessing Research Centre )

SIPRO welcomes researchers in Digital Signal and image processing field to work hand-in-hand to achieve the mystery in this field, its effect to specialize in the processing of information.

Objectives:

To specialize in the processing of data delivered by electronic eyes and to obtain reliable information from the millions of data.

To publish papers in National/International Conferences and Journals.

Activities:

Research and Development

1) Accurate Image classification in textile industry, agricultural, leather industry and medical applications and hence solving real time issues.
2) Texture image classification and segmentation as per requirements.
3) Designing effective algorithms in Image Restoration, Enhancement and Compression.

Training:

1) Offering Short term courses in Digital Image Processing (DIP) and Digital Signal Processing (DSP) using MATLAB.
2) Guidance for students projects (UG/PG).
3) Guiding potential research scholars to do quality research in signal and image processing.

1)  Fabric Defect Detection in Handloom Cottage Industries – Funded by AICTE RPS.
2)  Scalable Video Compression for Different Band width Communication.
3) Identification of defects in leather digital images.
4) Literature Review’ is in progress for using Image Processing Techniques in fault identification in Building structures.
5) Defect identification and classification in fruits and vegetables.

1) Identification and counting of fertile pollen grains using MIP.
2) Weed Detection Using Multi Resolution Analysis. This Project Received “Best Innovative Project Award-2009” from Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE) New Delhi.
3) Texture Based Weed Detection Using Multi Resolution Combined Statistical and spatial Frequency.
4) Texture Based Weed detection in agricultural field using MRCSF.
5) Crop and Weed Discrimination in Agricultural Field using MRCSF.
6) Motions blur detection in liquid system display using Richardson Lucy Algorithm
7) Classification and segmentation approach for Hepatic Tumor detection using Support Vector Machine
8) Detection of tumor in MR Images using SOM (Self organizing maps – Neural Networks).
9) Wavelet Based Colour Image Compression
