The R & D cell has been functioning in the department to implement the latest technologies in the Electrical and Electronics Engineering field and also towards the students’ welfare.

• Construction of circle diagram using visual basic 6.0
• Elimination of Tooth ripples on flux waveform
• Analysis of Synchronous Induction motor
• Changing the number of poles of the winding study motor by Automatic method using Electro Mechanical Contactors

AICTE sponsored projects has been sactioned (Rs.8 lakhs) for modernisation of electrical machines lab.

INAE – DVP

• Nomination of Dr. B. B. Das, Deputy Director, VSSC, ISRO, Trivandrum, approved by the Indian National Academy of Engineering – Distinguished Visiting Professorship Scheme.

Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)

• Entered an MoU(Rs.10 lakhs) for Development of Models of Inertial Systems and components with ISRO Inertial Systems Unit, Trivandrum
• An Additional MoU II(Rs. 3 lakhs) has been signed in april 2006 for additional Model.
• An MoU for(Rs.5 lakhs) has been signed on February 2006 for BLDC Torque Motor(designed, development and testing).
• Tender order from IISV, ISRO, Thiruvanathapuram for ‘ Design of Slotless Brushless DC Motor’.
• Design & Development of High Speed Induction Motor.
• Development of Scan mirror Mechanism model.
• Development of Free Gyromodel

Towards students welfare:

• Guidelines for the students to present Technical paper in the latest fields.
• Presentation of seminars in areas like Nano Technology, ASIC Design, DSP,VLSI based applications.
• Arranging Training Programmes for the students in various fields of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
