Dr. J. Akilandeswari, Professor and Head, Department of Information Technology has been granted Fulbright-Nehru fellowship for International Education Administrator’s Seminar. The objective of the fellowship is to expose the participants to the administrative aspects of Higher Education system in US. USIEF in India and Fulbright board in US jointly sponsors the fellowship. A total of 10 education administrators were selected from all over India in different fields of higher education in India. The fellowship period is 15 days from 15th October 2016 to 31st October 2016. She has returned from US completing the fellowship. She, along with 9 other Fulbrighters visited 16 Universities in the states of Virginia and North Carolina. She has been exposed in the administrative areas like career pathways, experiential learning, fostering alumni relations, fund raising, student support services, residential life of students and many other aspects. On the last day of the seminar the participants were given a cordial reception at Indian Embassy in Washington DC. The minister of commerce Ms.Reenat Sandhu had presided over the meeting and enquired about the experience of the fellowship.
The learnings has been shared with her fellow colleagues as a seminar on 05.11.2016. The chairman and vice-chairmen presided over the event.
