Department of fashion technology has organised 2 days workshop on special embroidery and Aari embroidery for third year FT students on 27.08.2018 and 28.08.2018. Around 85 students participated in the workshop. The resource person for the workshop is Ms.Prema Ramesh, Trainer, School of hobby classes, Salem.
Students gained hands on practice of shadow work, shaded embroidery, patch work, applique lace work, cut work, pulled thread embroidery on the first day of workshop. During the second day workshop, students were taught about aari embroidery and usage of sequins, beads, zardosi and various aari stitches and needles. The workshop gave very good exposure for the students to do their own ornamentation for their garments and kindled their interest.
