Two Days Workshop on “Tall Buildings”
The two days workshop on the topic “Tall Buildings” was organized on 26th & 27th of September 2017 in the Department of Civil Engineering. The workshop was inaugurated and welcome address was given by Dr.R.Malathy, HOD / Civil. The workshop was organized by the second year M.E. Structural Engineering students. The resource person for this workshop was Md Ahmadullah Thakuria who is currently an Engineer at Civil Simplified division of Skyfi Labs, an education company founded by IIT Kanpur alumni, which works on transforming textbook geniuses into productive engineers. He is part of the team of engineers that is responsible for the Development & Delivery of their Offline Project-based courses including the classroom training programs.
On the first day, lecture was given in the topic “Introduction about tall buildings and their importance”. On the second day, hands-on training was given to all the participants using E-TABS software. In this workshop totally 42 students from M.E. Structural Engineering and two Civil Engineering faculties were benefited. The workshop enlightened the participants on Design of tall building using software.
