Sona College of Technology celebrated its Sports Day on 9th March 2016 at the College Sports Ground. Mr.K.S.Mohammed Nizammuddin (International Triple Jumper), Mr. Kabeer R.Shetty (Business Head – IOT Arsenals Soccer Schools) and Ms.Lakshya Raghavan(International Junior Squash Player) were the Guests of Honor for the day.
The day started with an interactive session with Mr. Kabeer Shetty at 11 am with the presence of Vice Chairman. All the required arrangements were made for the session. He taught a few advanced Soccer skills to our students. Later on Mr. K.S.Mohammed Nizamuddin joined the session and he was introduced to our Vice Chairman and Mr. Kabeer Shetty. The morning session ended up with the refreshment at 12.30 pm.
The evening session kicked off at 4 pm with the flag hoisting by Vice Chairman and Guests of Honor. To enliven the sports events the Olympic torch was lid by the guests of honor and
Mr. Thyagu Valliappa declared the sports meet open.
Dr. C.V. Koushik (Academic Director) welcomed the gathering. Mr.C.Raja Vignesh (Physical Director) read the Annual sports report.
Our Guests of Honor addressed the gathering. The address by Mr.Kabeer shetty that to become a Successful footballer one should always listen to your coach and die at the playfield is a memorable one. Ms.Lakshya Raghavan motivated the women students by saying that everyone should come out of thier hesitation. The speech by Mr.K.S.Mohamed Nizamuddin was inspiring. He said that one should be a saint for being a successful sports person. He also spoke about the importance of fitness and wellness.
Our Vice Chairman gave the presidential address and motivated our students by his vibrating Speech.
Later on, our Guests of Honor distributed the prizes to the award winners. The photo session was held with our Vice Chairman and Guests of Honor.
The function ended up with National Anthem followed by fire works.
