Nearly 100 Librarians from Tamilnadu had a glimpses of feature libraries through the enlightening lectures by Dr.H.Kaul, Director Delnet from Delhi and Dr.Sangetha Kaul, Network Director Delnet. Tamilnadu is proud of having Dr.S.R.Ranganathan the father of Library Science and equally proud the highest number of libraries.
The workshop discuss topics like promoting academic integrity and combating plagiarism, opensource software for libraries among others. Dr.S.R.R.Senthilkumar, Principal presided over the function and said Library is the Heart of any Institution and appreciated the work of librarians in spreading Knowledge and wisdom.
Dr.Swarup K.Mohanty, Director MBA spoke on the latest developments in technology that has transformed the libraries to be highly interactive and reader friendly.
Dr.V.S.V. Venkatavardan former Director of Nehru Planetarium and Professor Emeritus Sona College talked about the importance of Libraries and the progress of Civilization. He concluded with the statement that librarian should not only spread knowledge and wisdom but also happiness.
Mr.N.Sreedharan coordinator, Delnet workshop and Chief Librarian Sona College of Technology gave a presentation about the Sona College and the libraries at Sona.
