PRECAST TECHNOLOGY – A GREAT ENTERPRENURSHIP VENTURE FOR THE FUTURE – says Er.P.Suryaprakash, National President of ACCE (Association of Consulting Civil Engineers)
The Department of Civil Engineering, Sona College of technology, conducted a National Level one day workshop on Precast Concrete construction – Challenge and Opportunities (PRECON’16) on 2nd March 2016 in association with ICI (Indian Concrete Institute), The Master builder, Ultratech Cements Pvt Ltd, Satyavani Projects and Consultants Pvt ltd, Hyderabad and with major precast constructors such as Trimble Solution India Pvt Ltd & Teemage Precast IN and ELematic India Pvt Ltd. This event was presided by Dr. V. JayaPrakash, Principal, Sona College of Technology (SCT) who lighted the lamp along with Er.Sridhar Rao, Regional manager of Elematic India pvt Ltd, Er L.H.Chandrasekar, Engineering Manager of Trimble solution India Pvt Ltd and Er.K.Venkatraman, Regional Head & Technical Services of Ultratech Cements Ltd and Dr. R.Malathy, Professor & Dean(R&D), Sona college of Technology. Er K.Venkatraman inaugurated the event after the welcome address by Dr.R.Malathy and followed by presidential address by the Principal of Sona collge of Technology.
Er.L.H.Chandrasekar started with the first session who enlighted the audience with his awe-inspiring walk through the Tekla software and showcased the benefits of BIM in precast construction.
ER.Surya Praksh, MD of Satyavani Projects & Consultants Pvt Ltd, portrayed the vast entrepreneurship opportunity in this emerging trend of precast construction and encouraged the participants to venture into this arena and said it is the only potential option for the construction growth of the near future that will imbibe speedy construction, assured quality and cost effectiveness when compared to the conventional method. He also mentioned that this technology is the only way to make “Housing for all”, a dream scheme of Prime minister Narendra Modi to come into existence.
Er.Ravichandran & Er.Gowtham from Teemage Precast IN shared how they make massive residential, commercial and corporate constructions of large footprints in a very limited time and in a congested area through a video demonstration.
The session in the afternoon saw Er. Sridhar Rao from Elematic India Solutions Pvt Ltd presenting the benefits of adapting precast technology and how to tailor precast elements that can bring in potential advantage in mass construction
Finally a product demo on various products developed and used by Ultratech cements pvt ltd for precast assembly and precast solution offered by them. They also expressed to have such programs on precast technology in the future.
