Parents meeting was conducted on 01.2.19. The meeting was arranged for Second year Civil engineering students in APJ Hall, from 10.00 A.M-2.00 P.M.In order to interact with the parents about the academic and other activities prevail in the department and their wards performance, meeting was started at 10.30 a.m. Around 37 parents attended the meeting and started with the address by HoD Dr.R.Malathy. She briefed the various measures taken by department for result improvement, placement and also explained the weightage of internal marks and its importance. Followed by HoD speech, Career Coordinator Prof. Meenachi addressed the parents group. She explained about the various career options available for the students to opt during the studies.
Various other languages offered by the college like Japanese, hindi and swadesh classes. She also briefed the history of Japanese offers given to students in the past and shared their successful stories. Dr.Gulshan, Academic coordinator addressed the parents about the various design competitions, paper presentation, project expo organized by the department. She also thrown lights on various success stories from the department. She explained the importance of such competitions apart from the academic studies. She also shared the experience of the team went to AICTE-Vishwakarma award happened in New Delhi in January month.
After the meeting got over, Parents discussed some the issues like fees deadline, traffic problem and other issues. HoD addressed the solutions for all such queries and finally parents are asked to meet their FAs and CCs to know their wards performance in terms of attendance and CIE, semester exam results. Finally parents appreciated the significance of such interactions and recommended to conduct such meeting is future also.
