Sona College of Technology, Department of Civil Engineering in Association with United Cad Solutions Organised one day Workshop on “APPLICATION OF CIVIL SOFTWARE’S IN CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY” on 03/09/2018 (Monday) to all the II year civil engineering students on APJ Abdul Kalam hall in SCT. Nearly 130 students attended the workshop. The inauguration was started at 9:30 am, Prof S. Prabhakaran initiated the program by welcome address to the gatherings followed by Dr.R.Malathy, HoD/Civil gives the felicitation address and finally, Dr.A.S.Matheswaran CEO of United cad speaks about the importance of workshop. At last, the session was hand over to the resource person industrialist lion Er.R.Sundararaj, proprietor of Ezhil construction, Karur. Various software’s like Auto CAD, STAAD Pro, STRUDS on windows, 3D MAX, Google Sketch-up, Photoshop are discussed along with the industrial application. Two sessions were planned in the morning and the afternoon session has been provided to the interested participants to give out the hands-on training. A total number of 74 students attended the afternoon session held at civil cad lab in two sessions and finally, they are provided with the certificates.
