It is needless to explain “Olympics”, such an important event to players and existing for many years. In the similar lines, our beloved management thought of conducting an event to young students rather engineers to bring out their talents in the year 2017 and named it as “Motor Olympics”. It is mainly to assess their engineering skills with available materials. It is obvious that the talents differ from person to person.

Here the students are given with a small magnet and a piece of bare copper wire. The students should use these materials and make a motor such that it rotates. They will also be given with a time limit.

The students have to recall the working principle of a motor and make a model with the given materials. It will be judged by a panel of professors and ranked depending upon their innovation, novelty and performance. Finally three prizes will be given. This year, it was conducted on 23.2.2019 (Saturday) at power electronics lab. Students from EEE, ECE and mechanical participated in this event. Each batch may have maximum of three students. Out of 50 batches, three batches got I, II and III prizes which include Cash, medals and certificates. Three consolation prizes were also given.

The prize distribution took place at Sona Foyer and our beloved Principal distributed prizes to the winners.
